As a veteran of the Navy myself, I appreciate any and all service to this country and proudly offer a discount for military (Active Duty, Veterans and Spouses).

Do you charge mileage fees?

Most locations do NOT have a mileage fee. Please call me for details and I can tell you if there is a mileage fee immediately. In most cases, if there is a fee, there it is just a gas fee to cover the extra mileage.

Are there any other fees (or hidden fees)?

There is a 1 hour MINIMUM but besides that- NO, it is a flat rate; however a mileage fee may apply but I will advise you of this in the free initial phone consultation.

What are your hours of operation?

I am always available - 7 days a week.

I am thinking about starting a new business, can you help?

Yes, I offer assistance in gathering the proper forms and paperwork needed as well as setting up a system to track clients, contact database management and much more.

When is the soonest available appointment?

Call to setup an appointment or just to ask a few questions. I am flexible and work mornings, days, nights and weekends.

What if I have my own set of questions, can I ask them?

Yes, I encourage people to write their own questions down and ask them at any time.

If I need help with Excel can I also ask a question about Word or another program?

Yes, you are NOT limited to just one subject. You can ask ANY question about ANY subject that I teach.

What subjects do you teach?

Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007 and 2010 - Microsoft XP - Microsoft Vista - Windows 7

Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and some Publisher and OneNote.

Do you teach people how to use Mac computers?

I recommend contacting Geoff Myers at Simdex.org.

I can offer some training for Microsoft Office on the Mac.

Can you help me learn Microsoft Office on a Mac computer?

Yes, I offer training for Microsoft Office 2004, 2007 and 2008 for Mac computers.

Can you create a database or presentation for me?

Yes, I can create just about anything you need relating to Microsoft Office 2003 or 2007 or 2010:

Access - Excel - Outlook - Power Point - Word and some Publisher and OneNote

Can you help me with Microsoft Office 2000 or older versions?

Yes, I can work on most of the previous versions but to ensure you are taking advantage of all of the features it is recommended that you upgrade to one of the newer versions.

What if I need to upgrade my software or hardware?

I offer free recommendations for new computer hardware and software. I only recommend things you actually need and ONLY recommend something I personally use.

Do you offer classes?

Yes I can teach classes but it would have to be at your office or another location.

Are your rates any different for teaching multiple people (classes)?

The rates are slightly different and are based on the number of people being trained.

For Business Group Trainings add $20 per hour per person.

2 - $60 per hour
3 - $80 per hour
4 - $100 per hour

Can you setup my new computer and transfer my old files to my new computer?

Yes, I can transfer everything over to your new computer and create a backup on CD / DVD.

Can you take my old computer?

Currently I do not take old computers but feel free to contact me regarding the proper way to dispose of a computer.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, Check, Credit Cards and Paypal.

Are you an actual small business or do you do this as a side job?

This is a fully legit business that is licensed with the State of Minnesota and operates as a Full Time small business.

Do you help businesses?

Yes, I help businesses of all sizes.

Do you do any volunteer work?

Yes, I am currently participating in the Adopt a Highway campaign.

What if I just have a quick question, will that cost me anything?

Call or email me. If it really is a quick question and only takes a couple minutes then there is no charge.

Do you teach programming or visual basic?

No, I currently don't teach on those subjects. If you know someone that does teach on those subjects I would like to hear from them for a possible partnership.

Can you setup a server and network for me?

No, I currently don't setup servers or small business networks. If you know someone that does setup servers and small business networks I would like to hear from them for a possible partnership.

I just need some software installed, do you do that?

Yes, I can install and setup your new software for you. Depending on the product I might be able to teach you how to use that specific program.

What if I only need phone support and don't require you to come to my location?

Generally if a call takes more than a few minutes we will advise setting up an appointment. I offer free consultations and provide phone and remote support for current paying clients.

Can you help me pick out a new computer to buy?

Yes, and if you want I can even go with you to purchase the computer to ensure that you aren't buying things that you don't need or services you won't use.

How long have you been in business?

The Nerd School was started in 2007.

Can I use multiple discounts at 1 time?

You can only use 1 discount at a time.

What are your rules with Gift Cards?

If the full amount of the Gift Card is not used then the remaining balance remains on the Gift Card.

The Gift Cards NEVER expire.

What is your policy on late payments?

I am flexible with payments so if you have money issues we can work out a deal (but this needs to be worked out ahead of time).

There is a $10 or 5% late fee for all invoices that are overdue (which ever is more). Additional late fees may apply if payment isn't received after the first late fee is applied.
